Under An Attack

INTRODUCTION

First off, allow me to apologize for not posting last week. I was sick both physically and spiritually and was not in a good condition to be able to think straight. The reason for all of this, I have decided to make the topic of this weeks post. But before we get there, I want to encourage everyone out there that each of us has a testimony of the power of God in our lives and no testimony is greater then any other. Instead, all testimonies are used to demonstrate God’s love for us and for those who have not yet discovered his love. Maybe you haven’t seen a demon or angel or seen broken bones healed, but that in no way diminishes the same God who saved you from your sins. Maybe someday you will see such wonderful workings of God’s hand and maybe you won’t, but don’t let yourself be hung up on whether you have seen it or not. The point is that God works in you and through you and with you to achieve his will and plan for your life and the life of those you will come into contact with. Pray that you will know the will of God for your life and share the testimony you have with those around you (and me, because I love testimonies).

6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,

9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

10 but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

2 Tim 1:6-10

UNDER AN ATTACK

Wednesday, August 23rd, I was awakened at 4am by a serious pain in my chest area. It had felt primarily like a gas bubble that needed to work it’s way out except that it did not move. By 7:30am, my wife had suggested that I eat because many times that could be the problem. This was a bad idea, as my pain went from bad to extremely worse. I had a ban about 3 inches wide extending in both directions from just about my sternum all the way to my side. It was a constant band of pain that hurt so bad I could barely speak. I took all my effort to be able to mumble the word, “doctor,” through my pain. By 9:40am, when we arrived at the doctor’s office the pain had subsided back to bad when the nurse practitioner believed I was having a problem with acid reflux and gave me some medicine to reduce the acid in my throat. However, this medicine did not help, but hurt all the more. I was again in intense pain. The doctor ordered a bunch of tests and told me to go on an all-liquid diet (no calories, no caffeine and no dairy) until I heard otherwise.

Now, before I go on, I want you to know that while I was at the doctor’s office, I realized that this was also a spiritual attack. The reason is because I have been moving out in what God wants me to do and the enemy is mad (see my previous BLOG post, “?Four Types of People The Enemy Attacks”?).

NOTHING SEEMED WRONG

Every test that the doctor ran came back normal. Therefore, on Friday, they told me to go ahead and eat. I started with a couple of pieces of toast and had some discomfort, but nothing major. A little while later, as I was very hungry, I tried to eat a microwaveable meal. Less then thirty minutes after I had completed the meal, I was bent over in intense pain again great then the likes that I had the Wednesday morning. My wife quickly checked my doctor’s office hours and discovered that they were about to close for the day. This was not good news because that meant that I would not be able to see my doctor until Monday, and I was really hurting. We jumped into our car and raced towards the office. The entire time, I was praying that God would allow me to be seen and for the pain to stop. I was also crying like a baby because the pain was really intense.

I entered my doctor’s office as they had pulled down the chain gates by the main desk. There was one lady left on duty and I must have looked pretty bad because she asked me who my doctor was (my doctor is one of four in the practice). She then stepped out and returned with my doctor who had not left yet. He took one look at me, and again I must have looked bad, took me in and saw me immediately. My doctor is a Christian and I later learned that he was waiting for a call from his wife before he could leave the office and as God allowed, she had not called until after he finished treating me. I praise God for a God fearing Christian as a doctor.

He examined me and suspected that it must have been my pancreas that had gotten inflamed from something and was causing problems. The issue with this was the no one really wants to play with the pancreas because of its tendency to head towards cancel when messed with. Therefore, he gave me a shot for the pain, a prescription for pain medicine and instructions to remain on the liquid fast until I was pain free for a period of twenty-four hours.

I spent the majority of the weekend sleeping as my body was exhausted from combating whatever was wrong and was not getting enough food supply to allow for extra energy.

WRESTLING AGAINST THE ATTACK

By late Saturday night, I was tired of being sick, tired of not eating, tired of being exhausted and just basically tired of all the enemy had already accomplished. Under our original plan for the week, we would have attended Wednesday night prayer, handed out flyers for our church’s grand opening family festival, visited local businesses to acquire donations for raffle prizes, my wife was to have helped set up for the women’s conference, and my wife would have attended the same conference. All of those things were not able to happen and I knew that this was an attack. Armed with that piece of knowledge and the manner in which the enemy was able to get a foothold in my home, where the open door was coming from, I went to prayer against what was attacking me. As a Holy Spirit filled Christian, no demon could possess me, but just like Jesus, they could tempt and torment me. I decided that it was time to go on the offensive and began to pray in the spirit against the attack. I prayed some in English and some in tongues and I could sense the struggle within me against my praying. I continued to push in and pray against the attack and called out every demon I could think of. I was doing my warfare as best as I could, but in the end in my weakened state; I was unsuccessful and shaking off the attack. That is not that I stopped praying, because I continued to pray, but the pain did not leave me.

I woke up Monday morning for the first time not feeling any pain and thought that I had finally broken through the layers and deception of the attack and found victory in Christ. I called my doctor and he told me to remain on a liquid diet until Tuesday before eating solid foods. However, when I did start back with food, there was some discomfort again and to be honest that broke down my spirit some as I was really looking forward to being able to eat again. I finished out the day still having food and feeling some pain, but not a lot and attempted to convince myself that it was just nerves and not an actual problem.

I woke up Wednesday morning and got myself ready. I was feeling off and I knew that I was not right, but had hoped that it was still nerves and continued. It was not long before I lost it and began to have more pain and other problems. I called the doctor and he told me to lighten what I could eat until a time when my stomach could handle it. At this point, I would have been really bummed out, but my pastor has called and wanted to come over and pray with me and that was the only thing keeping me from becoming really upset.

ELDER PRAYER BREAKS THE ATTACK

Wednesday afternoon, the Pastor and Associate Pastor of our church visited us in our home and prayed with us. Most important, he prayed over me while anointing my head with oil as it says to do in James. While they were praying over me, I could feel a washing sensation over my body from my head and shoulders down through my body. The best description was that it was like standing under a waterfall of cool water calmly, not harshly, raining down over my body and washing away the crud. My pastor told me that he could see the water flowing over me and I knew in my spirit that something in the spirit realm was broken over me. I became set free from the tormenting and the pain left my body immediately. Praise God.

SCRIPTURES

The enemy is a crafty one and seeks to destroy us if he can get the chance.

8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9

However, he is a lion that has been declawed and defanged and the worse thing he could do is send us to be with Jesus and that is only if it is within God’s will. Even in death, the devil has to conform to God’s will. So, stand firm and confident on the God.

10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

John 10:10

Jesus said he came to give us life and life to the full. He never said there would not be trials (and in fact the Bible tells us to expect them) and he never said everything would be perfect. Instead, he promised to make our life full and abundant and overflowing and that he would always walk with us. No matter the cost, to have the Son of God walk with me is worth having to face trials and attacks..

CONCLUSION

Today, I have been eating and everything is acting normally. I know that as I press into God, the enemy sees my family and I as a threat and will continue to attack. However, my God is bigger and will not only win every time, but will also ultimately win in the end. So, praise God that I am counted worthy to encounter various trials and attacks.

Four Types of People The Enemy Attacks

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

INTRODUCTION

Since this subject matter is correlates to what I will be posting next about being under an attack from the enemy, I thought I would share the four types of people the enemy attacks.

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

John 10:10

Jesus came to give us life, but the enemy seeks to destroy not only that life, but also everyone he can. In his efforts to do so, I have discovered that there seem to be four types of people that he specifically targets.

THE FIRST TYPE

The first people the enemy attacks are those who are a threat to him those people who are actively doing the will of God.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and [a]Satan also came among them.

7 The LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.”

8 The LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”

9 Then Satan answered the LORD, “Does Job fear God for nothing?

10 “Have You not made a hedge about him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.

11 “But put forth Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will surely curse You to Your face.”

12 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power, only do not put forth your hand on him.” So Satan departed from the presence of the LORD.

Job 1:6-12

In Job, we see that Job was a God fearing man who one could say was a threat to the enemy because he attributed his success to God and was thus a witness with a testimony. This threatened the enemy and he went to God to be able to destroy or attack Job in the hope of breaking him and destroying his power to affect others with a testimony. However, we know from the rest of the book that Job remained faithful and was rewarded in the end.

THE SECOND TYPE

The second people the enemy attacks is those who he is in danger of losing those people who the power of God is moving through their lives to lift them out of the torment the devil has put them in and set them on the road with God.

21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

22 And have mercy on some, who are doubting;

23 save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.

Jude 1:21-23

I realize this passage seems to refer to the end times, but I think it paints an important picture in that we are called to be constantly moving in Christ to save those who are perishing, those who are set for an eternity apart from God, which is the plan of the enemy for their life.

THE THIRD TYPE

The third people that the enemy attacks are those who will bring others down those people who are not wheat but tares and will bring others, even other Christians, down when they are brought down.

24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.

25 “But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed [a]tares among the wheat, and went away.

26 “But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also.

27 “The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’

28 “And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’

29 “But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them.

30 ‘Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.”‘”

Matthew 13:24-30

33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

1 Cor 15:33

In the illustration of the wheat and tares, we see that it states that one may be “uproot the wheat with them (tares)” and the verse in Corinthians that bad company (tares) corrupt good morals (wheat), we can see that the enemy wants to use whomever he can to take down someone who is following God.

THE FOURTH TYPE

The fourth and final type of people that the enemy attacks are those who are already completely lost to him and he is literally trying to put the final nail in the coffin and seal their fate for eternity. Anyone outside of these categories, are not considered to be worth the effort on the enemies part to mess with or have resisted him and he is waiting for another opportune time to come and attack again

13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

Luke 4:13

THE TYPE HE DOES NOT ATTACK

The type of person that the enemy does not attack is people, even Christians, who are of no harm or threat to his plan. In other words, Christian who are not on fire for Jesus Christ, not seeking to do God’s will, not attempting to advance the kingdom or people who do not know Jesus as their savior are the types of people the enemy does not waste his time attacking because he is happy with them right where they are.

CONCLUSION

Now, whether you agree or do not agree with my reasoning, one thing is for certain and that is that there are forces in the spiritual realm that are just as determined to take you down as there are forces that are determined to raise you up in Christ. All this said, I would rather be a threat to the enemy because I am doing God’s will and being a force for Christ and lifting people up.

Encountering A Demon

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

INTRODUCTION

This week I was a little tossed as to what I should write about. That was until my encounter with a demon last night. Now, I realize that what I am about to describe may shake a few people’s foundations, and while that is not my goal, I do know what happened both in the physical and the spiritual and am prompted by the spirit to share.

ENCOUNTERING A DEMON

Recently, my wife and I have been moving more in the Holy Spirit and walking what God has called us to do in this life. Not that we are anywhere near perfect at this, but that we have decided that if we are going to do this Christian thing, we were going all out. There was no second best or half done approaches to Jesus Christ as far as we are concerned. When you have this attitude, God begins to speak to you basically giving you assignments of things he wants you to do. This might be to give money to a missionary or stop and pray for a homeless man on the street possibly being the one person he will respond to leading him to Jesus or a host of other things. The entire time that you are walking out what God has told you do, you are becoming more and more a threat to the devils plans. Furthermore, you have crossed a line where you are no longer afraid to stand on the Word of God and see God move in people’s lives around you. Making the devil very mad with you and to no surprise doing everything he can to stop you in your tracks. In other words, you have entered a battlefield in the spirit where the forces of God and the forces of the devil are locked in battle over the souls of man. Once you step into this battle, you have two choices, in my mind, to engage the enemy or to give up and run. We are just not the type to give up even though I will admit with everything the enemy throws at us it can get tempting.

That said, yesterday morning, when I was at the kitchen sink, I looked up towards the dinning room and saw a figure of a medium size man. This silhouette was all black and half transparent and just walking casually in my home. Immediately, my spirit came alive and confirmed that I was in fact looking at a demon. Following in the footsteps of this demon was our houseguest, who does not believe in any of this type of stuff. Since our houseguest was present, I made a note to pray over the house later with oil, the blood of the lamb and the powerful name of Jesus Christ. However, in the hectic race that the day turned out to be, I failed to remember to do that.

About mid afternoon, long before I left for work, I was driving in the car with my wife. She was having stomach problems and we were pretty sure that it was an attack. I began to pray over my wife’s stomach. As I did, I felt like I should grab hold of the demon and pull it out. I made the motion with my hand as if that was what I was doing and my wife winched with pain. She informed me that when I went to pull the spirit out, it fought against it and caused her intense pain. I asked her if she wanted me to stop, but she did not. She wanted it gone. So, together we prayed again and again I reached and grabbed for the spirit. This time, I could feel something that I was grabbing and hold. I know this sounds weird, but it did happen. I grabbed hold of the demon and pulled him out of my wife’s stomach and tossed it out the window. Immediately my wife felt better. And, I thought that perhaps this was the demon I saw in my home. While it could have been, my day was far from over.

I left that night to go to work, as I was to be working overnight. At work, I just was spinning my wheels. The simulator that I wrote software for would not power up and respond despite my best efforts. To make matters more frustrating, a second simulator is exhibiting a problem that we can replicate, but cannot find the source of. After about four hours of achieving nothing, I decided it would be best to return home and talk with some people the following day in an attempt to discover what I was doing wrong.

At my house, the kids were all in bed and asleep. My wife was waiting for me to call to tell her that I was returning home so that she could unlock the hidden bolt lock allowing me to enter with my key. I called her about 1:30 am on Friday morning informing her that I was just about to leave work and head home. She walked out unlocked the hidden lock and went into the kitchen to get a drink of water. It is important to note for reasons that will be clear in a moment that my wife was in the kitchen roughly twenty minutes before I got home and everything was normal. No weird occurrences or sounds.

On the ride home, I was praying in the spirit in tongues the whole way as I was seeking to know more of God in my life and hear his voice. So, whenever I can, I am trying to be in prayer to make connections with God throughout the day. I arrived home just before 2am. As I entered the house, I was immediately struck with a strange sense. The best way I could describe it was that it felt like things in the house were dark. Now, I am not saying that it was dark, because it was. I am saying that it felt dark, gloomy, brooding. To my eyes, there was nothing to explain this feeling, but I knew something was not right in my spirit. I closed the door and suddenly noticed a buzzing sound coming from somewhere in the kitchen. With hesitating, I walked into the kitchen to find an Icee Machine with the lid open running. The reason this was strange was because the Icee machine requires you to load it with ice and then close the lid and push down on it to active the motor. However, in this case, the motor was going and the lid was open. As I approached, I immediately was alerted to another potential problem. I could smell the burning smell of the electro-mechanical motor inside the Icee Machine. I unplugged the machine to cause it to turn off and picked it up to inspect it. I noticed that it was hot and that the smell had indicated that it was burning out. Which, if the conditions were right, would have caused a fire in our home. Now remember that I mentioned that my wife was in the kitchen about twenty minutes before I walked in the door, and yet now she was so sound asleep that I could not even rouse her to pray let alone do warfare.

As I put the Icee Machine down, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I felt in my spirit the presence of the demon that I had seen earlier. Before I go on, I want to let you know that if this had been a little over a year ago, I would have packed up the family and gone to a hotel believing that somehow I stepped into a horror movie and did not want to chance staying in the house. Today, however, I was not so inclined. Instead, I felt almost a righteous anger rise up within me. How dare this spawn of evil invade my home? My family and I are sold out for Jesus Christ making my home holy ground leaving this demon nowhere he is welcome to tread. Most important was that I was not going to let this stand.

In my mind, I checked that I was wearing the armor and began to go through the house and pray over every room. I also prayed over every family member of my household. I was finished my sweep, which was from the farthest room to the closest to the door as to not trap a demon in the house, but herd them to a single door and flush them out of it. As I stood at the front door where I was finishing my prayer over the home, I could feel the presence of evil leave my home. As it did, I breathed a sigh of relief and went to bed for the night.

SCRIPTURES

30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:30

God has informed us in his word that there is a devil and demons out there that are at war with God. When we take that step of faith to make Jesus Christ our savior, we official take a side in the war and immediately become marked (Ephesians 4:30) and if we do walk out following Jesus, then we become a threat and the enemy does not like threats. So, he sends his demons out to make your life miserable. However, we are not without help. In fact, God not only stands with us, but he also provides the protection.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:10-12

In Ephesians 6:10-12, we see clearly our struggle here is again evil force that seek to destroy and devour you. However it is most important to remember that they have no power. God is still in charge and when Jesus is in your heart, then you are a walking vessel for Jesus. And just like Jesus, we can rebuke and drive out demonic spirits from our homes.

CONCLUSION

Whether you believe what I have written or not, the Bible makes it clear that there is a war out and that we can be a part of the winning side or a causality of war. Won’t you join Jesus Christ and pick up your armor and let’s go to war together.

Shattered And Healed

Friday, August 11th, 2006

INTRODUCTION

Continuing with miraculous healings by the hand of God through his servants, below is a testimony of God healing another little girl. What is special about this is that this was the first time I was first hand the one whom God chose to use to heal through.

SHATTERED AND HEALED

First, in 1999, I was in my last semester at Rutgers University. I had just gotten out for the day, when my wife pulled the car up to the bus stop area. Frantically, she stepped out of the car and raced to get in the passenger side. She related that my three-year-old daughter, Abby, had climbed (she was on one of those curved ladder things and missed stepping off onto the platform) and fallen over six feet off of a playground set. Furthermore, Abby smacked her chest part of the way down and was not doing well. Not being a doctor, but having been training in Emergency Responder (one step short of EMT) medical, I did a quick examination. For starters, Abby?s eyes had rolled back and were not very responsive. She did not hold her head well, which is a good indication of a neck injury. I also discovered that her collarbone was shattered, as I could not find ANY evidence of it at all (and the collar bone is pretty hard to miss). The last thing that really concerned me is that she didn?t respond at all to my touching the swelling areas. From my preliminary check, I assessed that she had a broken collarbone, neck injuries and was slipping into a coma (at least out of consciousness). You can imagine just how fast I got her to the hospital. As we pulled into the Emergency Room entrance for Ambulances, I turned and laid my hand on Abby and quickly said, ?Jesus heal her!? I did not take time for a lengthy prayer. My wife took Abby into the ER as I parked the car and brought our five year old, Katie, into the waiting area. I had to wait because they did not allow Katie in the ER area and every minute seemed like an hour. I was afraid of what I was going to learn. Eventually, a nurse came out and told me that I could take Katie back. I will be honest when I tell you that I was scared of what I would find. When I entered the room where Abby was examined, I found her jumping on the examination table looking completely fine. A doctor was there and yelled at me about bringing her to the hospital. Immediately, I check for her collarbone and IT WAS THERE! Remember I had some medical training and was not some Joe on the street. I, then, explained to the doctor how I examined Abby, what I had found then and what I had determined was wrong. He told me that my assessment given what I told him was correct, but added, ?However, she is perfectly fine now. You should count your blessings.? The doctor affirmed that I had correctly assessed the conditions that I originally described, but that Abby in the Emergency Room did not exhibit those conditions any more. The only explanation is what she was healed when I prayed over her.

SCRIPTURE

Stated over and over again is the phrase that Jesus went and “Healed their sick and cast out demons.” (paraphrased) Furthermore:

20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Psalm 107:20

2O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.

Psalm 30:2

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His (B)holy name.

2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And (C)forget none of His benefits;

3 Who (D)pardons all your iniquities, Who (E)heals all your diseases;

Psalm 103:1-3

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)

24 and He Himself (A)bore our sins in His body on the (B)cross, so that we (C)might die to sin and live to righteousness; for (D)by His wounds you were (E)healed.

1 Peter 2:24

23 And Jesus said to him, ” ‘If You can?’ (A)All things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 9:23

14 “If you ask Me anything (A)in My name, I will do it.

John 14:14

Therefore, we should expect that we can go up in Jesus name and heal the sick and cast out demons. However, the enemy has sold us a lie that miracles like that only happened back when Jesus was here or that they ended with the Apostles. However, that is not what the Bible says. In fact, it states the opposite by saying that we will do what Jesus did as long as we have faith in him.

CONCLUSION

I encourage you today to have faith in him. And expect a miracle, because “Where there is an air of expectancy, there is a breeding ground for the miraculous.” (Bishop Joseph Garlington).

Little Baby Christina

Friday, August 4th, 2006

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the fourth installment of the FireKnights Round Table Report. This week, I had originally thought of passing on some testimonies of God and finances or even about God and the moving of the Holy Spirit; however God had a different plan for this weeks post and I think it would be best to go with what he wants. That said; allow me to share the testimony of Little Baby Christina.

LITTLE BABY CHRISTINA

Vicky had worked at a video rental store with a woman named Diana. Diana was the manager and a friend to Vicky. In fact, she was the only reason that Vicky had decided to go back to work for this company as she had left several months before. Diana was in a interesting place with God in that she had attended a church here and there, but had no concrete faith in her own church’s religion or in Christianity. Yes, she believe there was a God and in Jesus, but had never gotten to that place in her life where she had a personal faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. However, God was working on her and drawing her towards him and he does so faithfully with all of us. To make matters worse, Diana also had serious marital problems. Her husband had left her at one point because of Diana’s working of sixty to seventy hours a week for a company that treated her like dirt. Since then, she and her husband had been reconciled, but they still had major issues to work out. Vicky knew that God had placed her there for Diana and prayed for her regularly.

Diana was also pregnant with her third child. This was a happy occasion as this new pregnancy had drawn her and her husband closer together despite all their problems. However, Diana, fearing the potential of her husband leaving again, continued to work long hard weeks at the company. At about seven months pregnant, her doctor told her that she needed to take it easy and that if she continued to push herself there would be complications. Diana received that warning, but feared the loss of her position and salary if she did as the doctor instructed. Therefore, she continued to push herself way beyond what she should have the whole time believing she was doing the right thing. In the end of April, Diana went into labor some seven weeks before her due date. She delivered Little Baby Christina at just less than five pounds, a tiny precious little bundle of joy.

Horror struck quickly as the doctor and nurses discovered that little Christina was not breathing and they had to use a machine to make sure she could survive. Vicky heard that Diana had the baby and that there were serious problems and knew immediately that she had to go and pray over the baby. Vicky also knew that if the baby were to lose its life that there was a good chance that Diana’s marriage would be ended for good. But most important, Vicky just knew deep down in her spirit that God wanted to heal this little girl and Dian’s family. She called Diana and set up a time to go to the hospital.

When Vicky arrived at the hospital, she was immediately taken by all the precautions that had to be taken just to see the little Christina. Since her situation was critical, Vicky and her husband had to thoroughly wash their hands with special soap, wear special gowns, and be sure to not bring in any kind of foreign objects at all. All of which, only emphasized the seriousness of little Christina’s situation, and that an honest and true miracle was about to happen. To further complicate a complicated situation, Christina was also not eating on her own and they were forced to feed her with a syringe. Vicky talked with Diana about how she was doing. As it turned out, they had to move Christina to a special hospital that had a Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit to give her the fighting chance to live. Diana, desiring to be with her little baby, had signed out of the hospital she delivered in to be with her baby. She was not fully healed herself, but would not be separated from her little girl that needed her so much.

As a note, Diana grew up in a family where love and care was not expressed, as one would expect it to be. Yes, her family loved her, but the lack of expression of this love, coupled with life experiences after moving out of her parent’s home, left her feeling alone in this world. Even her husband had not been a solid source for love and care as he had left her once before. So, the concept that a friend would care so much to come to the hospital, go through all the deterrents to see and prayer for her and her baby was just not something she would have ever expected to happen.

Vicky and her husband had arrived at the moment where God was either going to do something or not. Vicky stood on his word that he would heal the sick when we pray and on the driving force in her spirit that overflowed with an immense sense of the presence of God in the room. Diana held Christina as Vicky and her husband knelt near them and prayed over both Christina and Diana. There was an intense flowing of the Holy Spirit as they prayed not because they were anything, but because the God in heaven who loved this little girl before she was even conceived was working a miracle in her body.

Diana was on the verge of breaking out into tears from the outpouring of love that she felt from God. Vicky and her husband didn’t want to stop as the sweet aroma of God permeated the entire room; however, the prayer was over. God had moved even though the little girl looked no different then she did just moments before, but Vicky knew that she was healed. Vicky informed Diana that if she needed anything to call and to not worry because God had healed Little Baby Christina.

Vicky and her husband left the room on the greatest high anyone could experience. To know that you were at the moment where God wanted you doing what God wanted you to is so out of this world that words cannot justify the experience. Two days later, Vicky received that news that Christina was not only healed but was leaving the hospital to go home with her family.

SCRIPTURE

God had moved and healed little Christina because of the faithfulness of Vicky to stand on the word of God and just believe that God would do what he said he would. In James chapter 5, it states:

14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

James 5:14-15

God told Vicky to pray and he would heal this little girl and that his Holy Spirit would be the oil that anointed Christina as the power of God flowed through her body. Therefore bringing a fulfillment of his word that he would heal the girl when prayers were lifted up in faith.

CONCLUSION

God sometimes tells us some crazy things, but he is ever so faithful to stand behind his promises when we walk out his will by faith. I encourage all of us today to walk out the will of God and follow what he tells us. When we do, there is a breeding ground for God to move and miracles to happen.
